Description
Derby University, Post application Decision Processing Process Diagram This scenario is known in the UCAS system as 'paper lite', because UCAS copy application forms are not directly used. Much of the information, particularly the Personal Statement, reference and any supporting documentation are used from electronic sources. The main electronic sources are the PeopleSoft (Oracle-based) centralised admissions system, supported by a Serengeti document management system. Currently (2008 entry) some paper is still used, in particular a Decision Sheet, which selectors use to review the application, in conjunction with either the PeopleSoft record or (in departments) the UCAS record via Web-link. The Decision Sheet is used to collect decisions, from which they are keyed. The system is a hybrid between an all electronic one and the original UCAS paper-based admissions system.
