Description The process operated by administrators of filtering applications on the basis of rules established by admissions tutors. The rules for filtering may be simply on the basis of A level grades, or may be a complex set of encoded information reflecting the admissions tutors' practice. In some HEIs filtering may result in rejection decisions, in others it may result in offers and rejections; in all cases a proportion of applications is forwarded to admissions tutors for further assessment.
